Advice about marketing is everywhere but most of it ends up being boring and not very useful. Here are 5 tips to marketing that will help keep you one step ahead in today’s over saturated marketplace.
1. Pull them in!
The worst thing you can do in today’s world is sell sell sell. Potential clients run a mile with this kind of targeted marketing. Build your brand, draw your customers to you and foster the relationship and need for what you have on offer. Keep in contact but do it in a fun and informative way rather than just sending out offers and sales spiels.
2. Keep it simple
You don’t have to overthink it. Making something complicated just confuses people. Sometimes the simple things work the best. Look for simple ideas that stand out and show you as being different. And don’t be afraid to give even the craziest of ideas a go. After all, what is the worst that can happen.
3. Don’t discount traditional methods
There is value in old promotional and marketing techniques, particular that of building a data base of people to market to. Today there are other ways of reaching different markets but if it works, keep doing it. Keeping in contact with a database of people is a great way to stay in front of them when are looking for services you provide. As a result, someone on you data base might not be ready to buy from you yet but when they are you need to be in their inbox and easy to find.
4. Build your audience
Firstly, if you know who you are talking to it is easier to build that audience. Find out who they are, where they shop, what they buy, where they hang out. Secondly, build a persona around you perfect client. Then you have only one person to shape your message to. Go and be in their space. Go and have conversations and be part of that community. Or better still, build your own.
5. Do something different.
Don’t get lost in the crowd. Think outside the square and stand out. Look outside of your industry to find ideas that work for others and have a go.
