Subterranean bar and nightclub, Spice Market, hosted the sold out AIPP Victorian Christmas party on Thursday 21st November, 2019 from 6:30pm – 12:00am.

Located in Beaney Lane, Melbourne, the Middle Eastern themed venue is familiar to AIPP members from all around the country who attended the 2017 and 2018 APPA wrap-up parties.

Some 60-odd members, partners, friends, trade partners and sponsors joined us on the night with a complimentary drink on arrival and grazing hot food nibbles throughout the evening.

Remarkable effort was made by a number of our regional members in order to attend, hailing from as far away as Bright (over 3.5 hours), Drouin (over an hour), and Giffard (over 2.5 hours.)

The long trip from Giffard certainly proved beneficial for member, Nicole Anderson, who took out the ‘Golden Ticket’ door prize.

Nicole receives complimentary entry into every educational event the Vic council hosts throughout 2020.

Congratulations to the winners of the two other Christmas party draws.

Trade partner, Kristy Glasson of Digital Works, won the free entry of up to four prints into the Victorian Professional Photography Awards in 2020.

Andrew Campbell won a three-hour one-on-one social media mentoring session with board member and Instagram aficionado, Felisha Mina (valued at $1,199.00.)

Unfortunately Santa was a bit busy at the North Pole to make it but we didn’t let that stop the festive vibe.

Council vice president and secretary, Melissa Wood, suggested perhaps Santa wasn’t able to attend because he busy working on the Christmas Wish Project with Victorian member, Karen Alsop.

“Sad to miss it!” Karen said. “Hope to catch up with many of you soon.”

Members Kym Griffiths and Brian Randall dually celebrated the Christmas party with their respective birthdays.

And the infamous Spice Market bird cage podium may or may not have been graced by one of said birthday peoples and her their posse.

Sponsor representatives Karl Ludik (Olympus) and Michael Marlborough (Kayell) joined in the yuletide festivities, and the Fujifilm Instax mini polaroid cameras proved a big hit and contributed to the evening’s merriment.

“On behalf of the Vic Council, I wanted to extend a huge thank you to all those who came out to kick off the festive season, and catch up, dance, and celebrate with us,” council president, Emily Black, said.

“To the rad sponsors who were able to make it last night, Michael and Karl, we are so grateful you braved the wild Melbourne weather to party with us,” said Emily.

“And to those who were unable to make it (Bruce and Julie) we missed you and hope you have a fabulous season!”

“I’d like to also thank my fantastic team on council for ensuring the night was a huge success,” Emily said.
