Great food, great people and great information. What more can we ask for?!
Back before the digital age, I was a photographer. I lost the bug for many years but now it’s back!– Ben Walton
Many know Chris for his stunning aerial and abstract images of the Australian environment and, of course, as the AIPP 2018 Australian Professional Photographer of the Year.
Ben spoke on making printing easy with Mirage and choosing the right media for your image. He touched on the printer running costs and care and maintenance of home printers, viewing conditions of your prints and the technical side of printing in general.
Chris discussed the process he uses for editing images for ready-for-print including some of the software tools, papers and hardware he uses and why.
He also covered selecting colour spaces, colour managed workflows, colour proofing, sharpening processes and the review of the image. Finally, Chris explained some of the challenges of printing on large format.
As an extra treat, we were surrounded by Chris Dark and Chris Saunders’ “Head East and Turn Right” exhibition on at The Bunker Gallery. A visual feast (paired with an actual feast!) that highlighted the very reason we print our work.
