Jennifere Thompson AIPP

ICU TOO is an ongoing photographic series of some 32 primate portraits by AIPP Accredited Member, Jennifere Thompson, taken over a five year period.

Jennifere has travelled around the world to photograph primates living in the wild, in sanctuaries and in the simulated habitats we call zoos.

The ICU TOO exhibition is donating a percentage of proceeds from the sale of artworks to registered non-profit rescue and rehabilitation wildlife organisations including (but not limited to): the Jane Goodall Institute Australia, Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, and WIRES Queensland.

Jennifere’s dark fine art portraits – some AIPP State and National award-winning, others never seen by the public before – entice human curiosity and invite the audience to step up looking closely and directly into the face of the primate.

The aim of this body of work is to evoke an emotional connection between the human and the sentient non-human.

As such, Jennifere is optimistic all humans will see this parallel when viewing her work and come to care about the primate status on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
