It’s time again for our monthly recap of prizes, partner offers and imaging excellence. In this month’s e-news we also have some exciting news on the SLA Winners presentation, a pre-order offer for a great new book by Scott Leggo, and some recent opportunities for competition entries.

Silver Lining Awards – Winners Announcement this Week!

Excitement is high in Awards Land as we look to conclude the 2021 Silver Lining Awards with our Winners Announcement on Thursday 22nd April at 7pm AEST. This announcement will be broadcast live on the AIPP Official Facebook page and everyone is invited to tune in to see who will take out first, second and third prize in each category of the SLAs.

To prepare for the big announcement, you should jump on to the awards website right now to check out the amazing Top 10 images in each category. The finalists were revealed last Friday and we are extremely proud to see Accredited members, General members and even non-members featuring in the Top 120 images of our competition. Whilst you are feasting your eyes on the cream of the crop, make sure you check out the incredible $60,000 prize pool that will be awarded on Thursday night. We cannot thank our dedicated Trade Partners and sponsors enough for their continued support of the Silver Lining Awards.

World Photographic Cup winner announcement

The BON awards, the medals, the team trophies and the World Photographic Cup will be awarded this coming Tuesday, April 20th, at 3am AEST.

Olive Cotton Award: Entries Now Open

Entries are now being accepted for the 2021 Olive Cotton Award for photographic portraiture at Tweed Regional Gallery.

The Olive Cotton Award is a $20,000 biennial national award for excellence in photographic portraiture in memory of photographer Olive Cotton, an Honorary Fellow of the AIPP. The exhibition is selected from entrants across Australia and is a significant opportunity for established and emerging photographers. The winning work is acquired for the Gallery’s collection.

The exhibition will be on display at Tweed Regional Gallery from 16 July – 19 September 2021, with the announcement of winners on Saturday 17 July, 5pm – 7pm. The guest judge for 2021 is photomedia artist Michael Cook.

Mullins Conceptual Photography Prize

The MCCP competition portal remains open for entries until 11pm AEST on 23 April. Entry portal and details can be found here.

The competition invites entries of single images or series of up to four images as one work. These works will be judged by an accomplished team of adjudicators – Jacqui Dean, Judith Nangala Crispin and Julie Williams.
